Day One Reflection

Day 1 TTLO 2016 Baby Steps
I am really excited to begin this course, but as I begin, I realize that I need to be a lot
more organized. The first chapter of Teaching Online, A Practical Guide definitely
points to this when the author compares the completely online course and the
Blended Learning course. They make it sound so simple. The assignments that the
teachers give seem very straight-forward. I can’t help but compare the textbook
described course to this one, in which I am a student. I am struggling with Moodle,
because I have never used it before. I tried looking at it two weeks ago, but it
continues to frustrate. I know that my high school students who will be
transitioning will be feeling the same way. So I have to ask myself, “What will I need
to do to help my students alleviate some of this techno stress? Like chapter one
says, this sort of online teaching does indeed make me more aware of my teaching.
Cheers,
Julie Fowler
