I will need a lot of time to plan a Hybrid course that follows the current curriculum engine requirements in place from the Clark County School District: I have attached Unit 1 with ACTFL standards that I might need to look at to design the first Unit lasting approximately 4 weeks. I would like to establish Homework, Grammatical concept videos (of my own design plus those I find on the Web) and many ACTFL type activities that will allow students to utilize their online learning through voice thread, Forum comments and discussions that I will need to design so that students can use my classroom computers and their mobile phones... I think that my main focus using online resources will be to get students talking MORE than they are willing to do in class. This should be my main focus...
Since Moodle is free, I may use it, but I am not sure yet... For a hybrid course, where students must be in the classroom five days a week, would I need Moodle? could I just use Google classroom instead? I wish that my school offered a computer lab for me to teach in with a central desk section for meeting with individual students...
Julie, my understanding is moodle has to go through the institution, you can use Google classrooms. Youtube has good tutorials and Google has all the information to get started: https://support.google.com/edu/classroom/?hl=en#topic=6020277
